A Mu'min Who Misses Home Page
Did you know that when a Mu'min has graduated to complete the whole series of examinations on him to reckon hisab (charity reckoning day), then he is permitted by Allah to enter Al-Jannah (heaven), the land of eternity full of ultimate happiness? He is not permitted to enter heaven if it is proven that he still has problems with his fellow humans, even though with Allah Ta'aala he no longer has any problems. All his sins which are hablun minallah have been forgiven by Allah Ta'aala. But because he still has the problem of hablun minannaas with his fellow human beings, he is being held somewhere near Baabul-jannah (heaven's door) to settle various matters (reconcile) with fellow human beings.
In this case the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam described it as follows:
عن أبي سعيد الخدري قالقال رسول الله صلى اللهعليه وسلميخلص المؤمنونيوم القيامة من النارفيحبسون على قنطرةبين الجنة والنارفيقتص لبعضهم منبعض مظالمكانت بينهمفي الدنيا حتى إذاهذبوا ونقوا أذن لهمفي دخول الجنةفوالذي نفسي بيدهلأحدهم أهدى لمنزلهفي الجنة منه بمنزلهكان في الدنيا
From Abu Sa'id Al Khudri he said; Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said, "Those who believe on the Day of Resurrection are saved from hell, then they are detained on the bridge between heaven and hell, then some will be accused of some others because of their tyrannical time in the world, so that after they are cleansed and they are permitted to enter heaven. For the sake of the Essence that my soul is in His grasp, one of them knows more about his home in heaven than his home on earth. " (HR. Ahmad No. 10673)
In the hadith above the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam used the term "detained on the bridge between heaven and hell" to describe the still hanging problem of believers who have not been entitled to go to heaven because there are still problems between him and other humans he once wronged. The act of wronging other humans is a despicable act that is hated by Allah Ta'aala. In a hadith Qudsi is said as follows:
إِنِّي حَرَّمْتُ عَلَى نَفْسِيالظُّلْمَ وَعَلَى عِبَادِيأَلَا فَلَا تَظَالَمُوا
The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said that Allah said, "O my servants, verily I am forbidding tyranny over myself and I forbid it also towards you, so do not wrong each other." (HR. Ahmad No. 20451)
Heaven is a place that only has the right to be entered by the servants of Allah Ta'aala who is completely clean of all sins, both sins to Allah Ta'aala and sins to fellow servants of God. Therefore, a Muslim always craves and expects the forgiveness of Allah Ta'aala because he knows that if he still has sin surely he is not entitled to enter heaven. And therefore a Muslim is very worried when he is involved in an act of wronging other human beings, because he knows that expecting forgiveness from fellow human beings is often more difficult than expecting forgiveness from Allah, the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
So in the hadith above the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam stated "... then some will be accused of some others because of their tyrannical time in the world ..." and this is a necessity so that the Muslim who was able to do wrong can be clean from the sin is so worthy of entering heaven. Because heaven only accepts those who are clean and like to clean themselves. Therefore the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam went on to say, "... then they are permitted to enter paradise."
Then finally the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam stated that "For the sake of the Essence that my soul is in His grasp, someone among them knows more about his home in heaven than his home in the world." The believer then has the right to enter the heaven of Allah Ta'aala and the Prophet sallallaahu' alayhi wasallam illustrates that when a believer sets foot into heaven suddenly his feet bring his body to step into his residence in heaven more knowing, steady and sure than he stepped back home while living in the world.
So, my brother, heaven is truly the true hometown of believers. Because the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam to need to swear by Allah Ta'aala Essence whose soul is in His grasp, when describing it. When in the world a person after returning from out of town service would be very homesick to go home to gather with his wife and children. It may be that his longing in such a way even causes him to lose direction alias get lost to go home alone. This will not happen when a believer enters the gates of heaven and then steps into his true home, his true hometown.
How happy if someone can enter the gates of heaven and then reunite with his family and children in the true hometown of believers.
Allah Ta'aala says in the Book of the Holy Qur'an:
والذين آمنوا واتبعتهمذريتهم بإيمانألحقنا بهمذريتهم وما ألتناهم منعملهممن شيءكل امرئ بما كسب رهين
"And those who believe, and whose children and grandchildren follow them in the faith, We bring their children and grandchildren together with them (in heaven), and We have not deducted anything from their merit. Every human being is bound by what he does. " (Surat Ath-Thuur [52]: 21).
Allah Ta'aala says in the Book of the Holy Qur'an:
وأزلفت الجنة للمتقينغيربعيدهذا ما توعدونلكل أوابحفيظمن خشي الرحمنبالغيب وجاء بقلب منيبادخلوها بسلامذلك يوم الخلود
And the heavens were brought near to those who feared not far away (from them). This is what is promised to you, (ie) to every servant who always returns (to Allah) again keeps (all of His rules). (Namely) one who fears the Most Gracious God while He is invisible (by him) and he comes with a repentant heart, enter heaven safely, that is the day of eternity. (QS. Qaaf [50]: 32-34)
O God, put us and our family and grandchildren into Your Grace and Your Heaven.
