Difference between Nuzulul Qur'an and Laylat al-Qadr

Nuzulul Quran is the time when the Qur'an was first revealed. In Indonesia it is commonly celebrated every 17th of Ramadan, generally at night. Almost all places in the archipelago held a ceremony like commemorating the birthday of the Prophet, Isra Mi'raj and other holidays. There are many ways in which people fill the Nuzulul Quran program, starting from the tumpengan, recitation, istighotsah, tahlil, Qur'anic scriptures, and so on.
Difference between Nuzulul Qur'an and Laylat al-Qadr

While Allah confirms that the Qur'an was revealed on the night of Laylat al-Qadr (Surat al-Qadar verse 1), which is the most special night in the holy month, the night that is expected of all the people of Muhammad, he is better than a thousand months. The most popular opinion is that Laylat al-Qadr happened at the end of the last ten months of Ramadan, one of the indications that the Prophet strongly emphasized the faith and other worship during these times. The question then, what is the correlation between the two narratives above? Why is it different between the warning of Nuzulul Quran and the revelation of the Qur'an on the night of Laylat al-Qadr?

Some commentators explain that the Qur'an was revealed twice in the process. First, it is derived as a whole (sum of wahidah). Second, it is revealed gradually (najman najman). Before being accepted by the Prophet on earth, Allah first sent him down thoroughly in the heavens of the world, gathered together in the Baitul Izzah. Then the angel Gabriel sent him down to the Prophet on earth gradually, verse by verse, at different times according to the need for twenty years, another opinion twenty-one years. "There is no difference that the Qur'an was revealed from Lauh al-Mahfuzh on the night of Laylat al-Qadr as a whole as our explanation. So the Qur'an is first placed in Baitul Izzah in the sky of the world. Then Gabriel lowered gradually about the commands, prohibitions and other causes. That happened for 20 years. " وقال ابن عباس أنزل القرآن من اللوح المحفوظ جملة واحدة إلى الكتبة في سماء الدنيا, ثم نزل به جبريل عليه السلام نجوما- يعني الآية والآيتين- في أوقات مختلفة في إحدى وعشرين سنة

"Friend Ibn Abbas said, the Qur'an was revealed from Lauh al-Mahfuzh as a whole to the recording angels of revelation in the heavens of the world, then Gabriel took him down gradually, one and two verses, at different times for 21 years. " (Shaykh Abu Abdillah Muhammad bin Ahmad al-Qurthubi, al-Jami ’li Ahkam Al-Qur’an / Tafsir al-Qurthubi, juz 2, p. 297). The process of the total decline of the Qur'an took place in the month of Laylat al-Qadar, precisely the night of Ramadan This opinion is confirmed in the history of Ibn Abbas and Watsilah bin al-Asqa '. Imamul mufassirin (leader of the expert commentators), Sheikh Abu Ja'far Muhammad bin Jarir al-Tabari convey the history in the book of his commentary as follows:
كما حدثنا أبو كريب قال ثنا أبو بكر بن عياش, عن الأعمش, عن حسان بن أبي الأشرس, عن سعيد بن جبير, عن ابن عباس, قال أنزل القرآن جملة من الذكر في ليلة أربع وعشرين من رمضان, فجعل في بيت العزة
"As Abu Kuraib told me, he said, told me Abu Bakr bin 'Ayyash al-A'masy of Hassan bin Abi al-Asyras from Sa'id bin Jubair from Ibn Abbas he said; The Qur'an was revealed in its entirety on the night of 24 of the month of Ramadan, then placed in Baitul Izzah.

" حدثنا أحمد بن منصور, قال: ثنا عبد الله بن رجاء, قال: ثنا عمران القطان, عن قتادة, عن ابن أبي المليح, عن واثلة, "عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم, قال: نزلت صحف إبراهيم أول ليلة من شهر رمضان, وأنزلت التوراة لست مضين من رمضان, وأنزل الإنجيل لثلاث عشرة خلت, وأنزل القرآن لأربع وعشرين من رمضان "
tells me Ahmad ibn Mansur, he said, told me Abdullah bin Raja ', he said, tell me Im ran al-Qatthan from Qatadah from Ibn Abil Malih from Watsilah from the Prophet, he said: sheets of the Prophet Ibrahim descended at the beginning of the month of Ramadan, the Torah was revealed on 6 Ramadan, the Gospel was revealed on 13 Ramadan, the Qur'an was revealed at 24 Ramadan " (Shaykh Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn Jarir al-Tabari, Jami 'al-Bayan' an Ta'wili Ayil Quran / Tafsir al-Tabari, juz 3, p. 188) In the process of the gradual descent of the Qur'an, The first revelation that the Prophet received was Surat al-'Alaq from verses one to five: When the Prophet reached the age of 40, Allah sent him to the universe, expelling them from the heresy of ignorance to the light of knowledge. On 17 Ramadhan, 13 years before hijrah, The Prophet received revelation for the first time. Specialists history of the Prophet, Sheikh Muhammad al-Khudlari Bik insists:)
"(chapter first revelation down). When the Prophet entered the age of ripe, ie 40 years, Allah sent him to the universe while encouraging and warning, to bring them out of the darkness of ignorance toward the light of knowledge. Such was the case at the beginning of February 610 AD, as explained by astronomer Shaykh Mahmud Basya. (However) after careful research, it is clear that the incident took place on the 17th of Ramadan, 13 years before hijrah, to coincide with July of 610 AD. " (Sheikh Muhammad al-Khudlari Bik, Nur al-Yaqin Fi Sirati Sayyid al-Mursalin, p. 19).

From the above reference it can be understood that the commemoration of the popular Nuzulul Quran in Indonesia refers to the history of the first descent of the Qur'an in the second process, namely from Baitul Izzah to the Prophet on earth. Differences of opinion about when the first revelations came down can not be avoided. In addition to the 17th of Ramadan, there are also those who believe that the 7th, 8th, and 21st Ramadhan occur. Some even say that it is not in the month of Ramadan. However, the celebration of Nuzulul Quran on every 17th of Ramadan which has been passed down from time to time is carried out without any denial from the scholars, at least it has a justification from the historical point of view according to one version. Therefore, there is no need to be excessive fanatic by blaming different parties with the opinion that is believed. Anyone can celebrate Nuzulul Quran other than the 17th of Ramadan while respecting other opinions. Ustadz M.
