Recitation of the Intentions of Zakat Fitrah
All acts of worship must involve intention. Not only obligatory worship but also sunnah worship. Intentions are part of the legal or not determinant of a practice. No exception to the implementation of zakat fitrah which must be carried out by every individual Muslim, whether male, female, adult, children, independent, or slave.
Muhammad bin Qasim Al-Ghazi in Fathul Qarib explained, there are three conditions that make people obliged to pay zakat. First, Muslim. Second, find the time to oblige zakat, which is the end part of Ramadan and the beginning part of Shawwal. People who die before entering Shawwal are not required to pay Zakat, as are babies born after the end of Ramadan. Third, have a staple food that exceeds the needs of him and his family during the holidays or at night.
Although obliged to issue zakat, not all are obliged to bear the burden of that obligation themselves. The person who is responsible for the livelihood of the person B is obliged to issue zakat for the person B. For example, a father is obliged to bear the zakat of the nature of the children for whom he is dependent. Back about intentions. In the context of zakat fitrah, intention is more needed than consent. Because, zakat is not a transaction practice (contract), like buying and selling or renting. Zakat is the giving of people who are obliged to the rightful person. There is also no requirement that the recipient gives a benefit to the giver on the basis of what is received. Therefore, the intention in zakat fitrah is compulsory, while the ijab-qabul is not. The intention is the intention without hesitation to carry out an act. Although intention is a matter of the heart, reciting it (talaffudh) is recommended because it will help someone to emphasize that intention. Talaffudh is useful in establishing intentions because intention is expressed in a concrete form, which is reading or reciting.
Here are some pronunciations of zakat fitrah intentions in Arabic:
The intention of Zakat Fitrah for Yourself
"I intend to issue zakat fitrah for myself, fardu because of Allah Ta'âlâ."
The intention of Zakat Fitrah for Wives
ﻧَﻮَﻳْﺖُ ﺃَﻥْ ﺃُﺧْﺮِﺝَ ﺯَﻛَﺎﺓَ ﺍﻟْﻔِﻄْﺮِﻋَﻦْ ﺯَﻭْﺟَﺘِﻲْ ﻓَﺮْﺿًﺎ ِﻟﻠﻪِ ﺗَﻌَﺎﻟَﻰ

... ﻓَﺮْﺿًﺎ ِﻟﻠﻪِ ﺗَﻌَﺎﻟَﻰ
"I intend to issue zakat fitrah for my sons ... (state name), fardu because of Allah Ta‘âlâ. "
The intention of Zakat Fitrah for Girls
ﻧَﻮَﻳْﺖُ ﺃَﻥْ ﺃُﺧْﺮِﺝَ ﺯَﻛَﺎﺓَ ﺍﻟْﻔِﻄْﺮِﻋَﻦْ ﺑِﻨْﺘِﻲْ
... ﻓَﺮْﺿًﺎ ِﻟﻠﻪِ ﺗَﻌَﺎﻟَﻰ
"I intend to issue zakat fitrah for my daughter ... (state name), fardu because of Allah Ta‘âlâ. "
The intention of Zakat Fitrah for Self and Family
ﻧَﻮَﻳْﺖُ ﺃَﻥْ ﺃُﺧْﺮِﺝَ ﺯَﻛَﺎﺓَ ﺍﻟْﻔِﻄْﺮِ ﻋَنِّيْ ﻭَﻋَﻦْ ﺟَﻤِﻴْﻊِ ﻣَﺎ ِنِيْ ﻧَﻔَﻘَﺎﺗُﻬُﻢْ ﺷَﺮْﻋًﺎ ﻓَﺮْﺿًﺎ ِﻟﻠﻪِ ﺗَﻌَﺎﻟَﻰ
"I intend to issue zakat fitrah for myself and all people whose livelihood is my responsibility, fardu because of Allah Ta'âlâ."
Intentions of Zakat Fitrah for Representatives
ﻧَﻮَﻳْﺖُ ﺃَﻥْ ﺃُﺧْﺮِﺝَ ﺯَﻛَﺎﺓَ ﺍﻟْﻔِﻄْﺮِ ﻋَﻦْ (... ...) ﻓَﺮْﺿًﺎ ِﻟﻠﻪِ ﺗَﻌَﺎﻟَﻰ
"I intend to issue zakat fitrah to ... (specify specific name), fardu because of Allah Ta‘âlâ." When receiving zakat fitrah, a recipient is blessed to pray the giver of zakat with good prayers. Prayers can be pronounced in any language.
Among the examples of prayer are as follows:
ﺁﺟَﺮَﻙ ﺍﻟﻠﻪُ ﻓِﻴْﻤَﺎ ﺍَﻋْﻄَﻴْﺖَ ، ﻭَﺑَﺎﺭَﻙَ ﻓِﻴْﻤَﺎ ﺍَﺑْﻘَﻴْﺖَ ﻭَﺟَﻌَﻠَﻪُ ﻟَﻚَ ﻃَﻬُﻮْﺭًﺍ
"May Allah reward you for what you give, and may Allah give blessings to the treasure that you keep and make it a purifier for you." It should be noted that as talaffudh is not required, the use of Arabic when talaffudh is done is also not a requirement. One can pronounce this intention with their own local language because in principle he is only a "means of assistance" to strengthen the intention of tithing, both for oneself and others. The most important thing is that the heart dalah that he is really intentional to perform almsgiving. (Mahbib) ::: Note: This text was first published at NU Online on June 22, 2017, at 14.00.
