The Smart Way of Shafi'i Is Exempt From Execution of Slander Hoaks

Trials and trials can befall anyone even great scholars, even the Prophet is accustomed to various kinds of terror, ridicule, and hoax accusations. Well, that hoax has also been experienced by world-class top scholars, Imam Syafii rahimahullah. This fateful thing almost eliminated the life of his grandson Idris.

Imam Syafii or Abu Abdillah Muhamad bin Idris (150 H / 767 AD) is a figure of a good cleric who is benevolent. Even so, good morals don't always get good responses. The incident was experienced by Imam Syafii while in Yemen. It has become a custom of Imam Syafii, even at times always trying to provide a lot of scientific insight. The change agenda continued to receive positive responses from many communities and academics, even the Yemeni authorities at the time.

Honestly, the achievements and achievements are always not a relief and make some elements not accept the respect received by the teacher Imam Ahmad bin Hambal. Those who do not like this set the strategy by making reports that are not true to the caliph Harun ar-Rosyid. They complained that "Imam Malik's students were supporters of Abdullah bin al-Mahdli al Mutsanna bin Husein, son of Ali, and Fatimah ra, grandson of the Prophet (PBUH) (alawiyyin)".

Well, the hoax news succeeded in encouraging Harun ar-Rosyid to issue a security warrant from everything that was alleged as a separatist movement to the Yemeni leader. So that the Yemeni guardians surrender and strike alawiyin groups to Baghdad. Because under the authority of the caliph, the separatist syndicates and rebels were arrested and handcuffed and led to the palace of Harun ar-Rashid, including the student of Abu Hanifah's pupil, also known as Imam Syafii.

After arriving in front of the Kholifah, the hordes charged by the rebels one by one were put in a closed room and beheaded. Everything that has been recorded as a group of power strugglers is executed by the palace slaughterhouse. Seeing that, Imam Syafii was shrouded in anxiety and worry over his fate. Then Imam Syafii prayed by reading:

"اللهم يالطيف اسألك اللطف فيما جرت به المقادير"

and this prayer is read repeatedly until it is the turn of the pioneer of this Syafiiyah school. With a shackled state Imam Shafi'i was asked to face the kholifah, then calmly there was a chat: Imam Shafi'i: "Assalamu alaika Yes Amirol Mukminin ... wabarokatuh" (without warahmatullah).

Harun ar-Rasyid: "Wa alaikas greetings warohmatullahi wa barokatuh! You start something sunnah that has no command, while I answer greetings as they should. And wonder, how dare you say something without my command ?! (said Kholifah)

Imam Shafi'i: "Verily Allah has said in his book,

"وعد الله الذين امنوا منك وعملواالصالحات ليستخلفنهم في الارض كمااستخلف الذين من قبلهم وليمكنن لهم دينهم الذي ارتضى لهم وليبدلنهم من بعد خوفهم امنا"

(An-Nur: 55). And He is the Essence when he has promised, he must keep it, and He also has put (giving position) you on his earth, and has given security to me when I worry, when you answer greetings with "wa alaika wa rohmatullah (and upon you salvation and grace Allah) ", and surely Allah's Grace has endured me through your gift (your guarantee) O Amir al-mu'minin?"

Harun Ar-Rosyid: "Ok, then what is your reason for it seems that your friend (Abdullah bin Hasan) has been arbitrary (rebelled) as well as his followers, while you are the leader ?!" Imam Syafii: "Oh, like this! if your intention is to interrogate (confirm) me, and of course I will be fair and honest as it is, but if my situation is handcuffed and shackled like this, it is difficult to talk, O Amirul Mukminin, pripun? and sampon is worried that I might be unfair to you, So, I will be submissive by sitting on my knees before you! "

Hearing this request Harun ar-Rashid turned and asked his son to carry out the request submitted by Imam Syafii. In his kneeling condition, Imam Syafii said, "ياايهاالذين امنوا ان جاءكم فاسق بنبإ فتبينوا" (Al-Hujurat: 6)

Only Allah, that what that person (envy) has provoked you with the news that you have received, to the extent that my honor is the honor of Islam and ordinary (people) descendants, is enough that has been my intermediary all along, while you have more right to take adab- manners in the book of God. Because you are the son of the uncle of the Prophet Muhammad who defended the religion and guardian of his teachings.

The recognition of Imam Shafi'i made Harun ar-Rashid clap while saying: "so that your suffering is reduced and your soul is loose, in fact we are the people who will care for your relatives with their rights as well as your knowledge. The Kholifah asked Imam Shafi'i to sit comfortably. Then Harun ar-Rashid asked:

Harun ar-Rasyid: How is your knowledge (insight) O Shafi'i, of the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Apostles, both of which are first and foremost things to understand? "

Imam Syafii: "Which book do you mean O amir al-mu'minin, while many books have been handed down by him?" (said Syafii confident) (processed translator)

Harun ar-Rasyid: "Good! of course, what I mean is that the book was passed down to my uncle Muhammad's son, O Shafi'i? " (explained Aaron)

Imam Syafii: "Ohh, I see! The sciences about the Qur'an are really many, whether you want to know muhkam, mutasyabih, taqdim, ta'khir or about nasikh, mansukh, and others. Without much ado, Imam Syafii carefully explained the insights about the Qur'an as well as possible, so that all present were amazed and fascinated.

Then, Harun ar-Rashid changed to questions about various scientific disciplines: astronomy, medicine, and psigonomics (hunches) and the like. And any questions addressed to him were answered well and optimally by Imam Syafii to make Harun ar Rasyid (Kholifah) happy and happy.

Then, the Caliph asked for advice for him. Imam Syafii also gave advice to Harun ar-Rashid, so that the caliph's heart trembled and burst into tears. Although some court courtiers still did not receive it, Imam Syafii continued his request for advice by the Kholifah. And finally, Imam Shafi'i is free from all accusations of hoaxes and slander from people who do not like him and are safe from execution.
