Syekh Abdul Qadir Jailani since he was young was someone who really loved knowledge. This was shown by him going to various parts of the country to study with dozens of scholars of his time, in the fields of fiqh, 'aqaid, tafsir, adab, knowledge of Tariqat, and so on. At the age of 17, young Abdul Qadir went to study in Baghdad at Jamia Nizamiyah. KH Saifuddin Zuhri in Guruku People from Pesantren (2001) notes, lessons that have been immersed for decades were obtained from the great teachers who were famous in his day and had a continuous sequence from, for example, Al-Qadli Abi Said al-Mubarak to Syekh Abi Hasan. Ali bin Abi Yusuf Al-Quraisyi to Abil Qasim Junaidi al-Baghdadi to Abu al-Hasan Ali Ar-Ridla, Musa al-Kazim, Ja'far as-Sadiq to Muhammad al-Baqir and Zainal Abidin who directly from Sayyidina Ali, where recently got it from Rasulullah SAW.

Sayings of Sheikh Abdul Qadir al-Jailani are very well known among them: "It is not proper for a teacher who wants to teach his knowledge to many people before mastering the wisdom of three things; first: the science of al-ulama (knowledge of the size of the scholars), second: the tactics of al-muluk (the political knowledge of the kings), and third: the wisdom of al-hukama (the wisdom of the hukama). A brief history of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jailani The full name of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jailani is Sayyid Muhyidin Abu Muhammad Abdul Qadir ibn Abi Salih Musa Zangi Dausat al-Jailani. Sheikh Abdul Qadir was born in the village of Nif or Naif, including in the district of Jailan (also known as Jilan, Kailan, Kilan, or al-Jil), South Kurdistan, located 150 kilometers northeast of Baghdad City, south of the Caspian Sea, Iran.

This region used to be part of the Thabarishtan region, now it has separated itself, and has become a province of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He was born at dawn, Monday, 1 Ramadan 470 H, coinciding with the year 1077 AD. Abdul Qadir was born to a devout partner. His father, al-Imam Sayyid Abi Salih Musa Zangi Dausat, was a well-known jurist cleric, the Hambali School, and his lineage extends to Hasan bin Ali bin Abi Talib, son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad. Meanwhile, his mother was Ummul Khair Fatima, the daughter of Sayyid Abdullah Sauma'i, a prominent Sufi at that time.

From this path, the lineage will reach Husayn ibn Ali bin Abi Talib. If this lineage is continued, it will reach Prophet Ibrahim through the Prophet's grandfather, Abdul Muttalib. He is a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad from the path of Siti Fatimah bint Muhammad SAW. Because of that, he was also given the title Sayyid.

He was born as an orphan. Her father had died when she was six months pregnant. He grew up in a family that lived a simple and pious life. Abdul Qodir's life was very simple and he was known to be very honest. He is recognized as the founder of the Qadiriyah Order, which had a large congregation and spread from Nigeria to China.

He also wrote at least seven essays and the most famous of which is Al-Fath al-Robbani which contains 60 sermons during the year 545-546 Hijriah. He died in Baghdad on Saturday, 11 Rabiuts-Tsani 561 H / 14 February 1166 AD at the age of 91 years.

Tarekat first appeared in the archipelago in the second half of the 16th century and was introduced by Sheikh Hamzah Fansuri in Aceh. He was a follower of the Qadiriyah order which was founded by Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jailani.

From Aceh, the Qadiriyah order then spread to Banten and West Java. According to Abdul Wadud Kasyful Humam, in the Cirebon People Tradition, Syekh Abdul Qadir Jailani is believed to have come to Java and died on the island. Even people can show the grave.

And to his students, Abdul Qadir al-Jailani taught seven things, namely repentance, zuhud, tawakal, gratitude, patience, joy, and honesty.
